Hawk & Croc’s 15th.

(From the end of New Hawk & Croc Chapter 3. Art by me, written by Brandon A. Mayo.)

It was on this day in 2003 that the first strip of Hawk & Croc went live. My co-creator, Brandon A. Mayo, and I may have been a bit dormant in the last year-and-a-half, but real life kind of got in the way. Between losing my dad, injuring the shoulder of my drawing arm, Brandon losing power in his house due to a hurricane, and server issues that I can’t even begin to understand, we’ve had a bit going on.

But we’re coming back. We’ve been working behind-the-scenes for the last several months to finish up New Hawk & Croc Chapter 5, and they’ll be uploaded later in March. In fact, as of this writing, I have 3 pages left to color, and a couple of minor details to fix up here and there, and my part is done. Brandon is away on a work trip, but once he’s back in a couple of weeks and finishes the website redesign, it will all be up for you to enjoy!

We started this crazy project in 2003, planning to only work together for a year or two, and ended up liking working together enough to have done so for a decade and a half.

If you’ve never read Hawk & Croc, head on over to HawkAndCroc.com and take a look. You can watch my art style progress from someone who struggled drawing and did the best I could using a mouse, into an artist with stuff I’m kinda proud of.

And, y’know, some people tell us that they enjoy the story and characters, too. Maybe you’ll be one of them!
