The original file for this is dated December 11, 2013. I was SUPER into Matt Fraction & David Aja’s Hawkeye comic at the time, and this quote came across one of my social media feeds. My brain immediately put the two together, and I drew this.
It holds up pretty well. There’s some anatomy stuff I’m not super happy with, nearly seven years later, and I wish there had been some highlights rather than just shadows. I do remember tracing the bow, to make sure that I got that accurate. But, overall, for my abilities at the time, this was right about as well as I could have done.
And the quote is a good reminder, especially as the entire world is being “pulled back” by the COVID-19 pandemic.
