Deadpool Mighty Muggs Custom Toy

Thanks to his appearance in X-Men Origins: Wolverine (or whatever that thing was), Marvel gave the “Merc with a Mouth” a huge push in 2009-2010, making Deadpool more visible than he’d been at any point in the characters’ history up to that point. And since that overlapped with the handful of months that Mighty Muggs were popular, I figured, sure, I can cash in on that.

Using a GI Joe Mighty Mugg of Snake Eyes, in order to get the accessories, I painted SO MANY LAYERS OF RED on this guy to get him as bright as I did. He sold so fast on eBay. I made sure to note in all of my eBay auctions that I won’t make the same figure twice, which has mostly held to be true to this day.

One nice thing about Deadpool is that the tactical gear over his tights is never drawn 100% consistently from artist to artist, so I just did something that included all of the elements I liked, including the Deadpool logo belt buckle. And since Deadpool was created by Rob Liefeld, I made sure to include plenty of Liefeld-esque ink hatching on the figure!

I can’t believe Hasbro never released an official Deadpool Mighty Muggs toy.

Deadpool, X-Men, and all related characters and concepts are owned by Marvel Comics. X-Men Origins: Wolverine was by 20th Century Studios. Both Marvel and 20th Century Studios are now subsidiaries of the Walt Disney corporation. GI Joe, Snake Eyes, and Mighty Muggs are all owed by Hasbro.
