I’ve always liked this figure, ever since its initial release in 1988. However, the factory paint application is pretty disappointing. I guess that’s a common theme in all of the Playmates TMNT figures I’ve repainted over the years; the sculpts all look fantastic, but they’re severely brought down by lackluster paint jobs.
Every bit of this guy’s surface is covered in paint, including the embroidered patch on the back of his vest, which required me to paint each stitch by hand. So that was fun.
Finally, I just like red-blue 3D glasses. Not to wear, they give me a headache. But I think they look cool.
