Okay, okay. It’s been a full week since I’ve posted anything. And I know I was REALLY GOOD about posting every day for a year — More than that, actually. I did over 400 posts between June of 2020 and June of 2021. But here’s the thing: I got a new graphic design job, where I’m looking at a computer screen for almost the full 8 hours. The LAST thing I want to do when I finish working for the day is look at a computer screen some more.
Fortunately for you guys, this new job pays me in money. And that means I have bought some things which I can talk about. So updates should resume for a while, but it’s mostly gonna be about stuff I bought.
Like this guy:
In 1986’s Transformers: The Movie, Optimus Prime is killed by his arch-nemesis, Megatron. Allegedly, this scene traumatized children worldwide, with reports of kids locking themselves in the bathroom for days on end, because their hero died.
Hasbro was just clearing out the characters whose toys they wouldn’t be selling anymore. 35 years later, I bought a toy commemorating that they wouldn’t be selling any more toys of this character.
“Fallen Leader” Optimus Prime is a Target-exclusive, but I found him on eBay for a few dollars lower than retail price. Like most ReAction Figures by Super7, FLOP sports 5 points of articulation: Neck, shoulders, and hips.
I absolutely love that Hasbro and their associates have made multiple toys of a dead Optimus Prime over the last couple of years. It’s like the “Force Ghost” Obi Wan and Yoda toys, but for a franchise I like.
Roll out!
