Boom Boom (or Boom-Boom, it’s inconsistent) was the boss of all the fortresses in Super Mario Bros. 3, and then sat out of the franchise for a while before returning in the New Super Mario Bros. series.
Also inconsistent is whether Boom Boom is an individual, or part of a race of large-fisted turtle monsters. More recent games have introduced Pom Pom/Pom-Pom, who is a female counterpart to this guy, but that doesn’t necessarily make up an entire species. They could just be two very strong Koopas!
Either way, this guy is a classic SMB3 enemy, and as such, I had to draw him…even if the motion lines I put around his hands didn’t turn out as clean as I wanted. 🙁
