He’s an exterminator that got turned into a mutant cockroach!
Scumbug is… gross. The original toy was definitely the inspiration for his animated appearance:
But in the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Adventures comics by Archie, Scumbug looked more like an actual ‘roach:
That always struck me as a little odd, so I decided to split the difference when I repainted his action figure:
It feels to me that a brown base with purple highlights makes him extra gross, and extra mutant-looking. Also, I painted all the bugs creepy-crawlin’ all over him, unlike the original Playmates version.
Ick.
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and all related characters are owned by Nickelodeon. Even Scumbug. Yuck.
