Before Hasbro licensed all the toys from Takara, many of the vehicular characters were originally toys from the toy line Diaclone, and Mirage was no exception. Both Mirage’s original Diaclone and Transformers toys were mostly blue. But a red version of the pre-Transformers Mirage toy was available in the Powered Convoy DX gift set. When I was repainting my adorable Robot Heroes toys, I decided to pay homage to this rather rare variant of Mirage.
Diaclone is owned by TakaraTomy. Transformers, Mirage, and all related characters are owned by a combination of TakaraTomy and Hasbro.
